My son was born in 1976, a bicentennial baby.  He was an excellent student, had a strong aptitude for problem-solving, even as a very young boy.  He also had a negotiator streak in him, and his dad and I thought he'd grow up to be a lawyer.  He was a National Merit commended student, honor roll student graduating in top 10% of class, National Honor Society member, and member of the Texaco Star Challenge Team in high school.  He was in the school marching band, symphonic band and orchestra and was, by all accounts, quite a character.  He attended A&M on a Navy Scholarship, was in the Corp of Cadets and the Fightin' Texas Aggie Band.  He appeared on the Commandant's Honor Roll and Dean's Lists regularly and was awarded the Navy Distinguished Student Star.  He is now an officer in the Navy, married to a gorgeous California gal, and they have an adorable little boy, my grandson...
